산업화된 의료, 상품화된 건강과 마르크스주의

국문 초록[abstracts]
자본주의의 위기가 심화됨에 따라 ‘자본주의의 병적 징후들’이 여러 가지 형태로나타나고 있다. 이를 마르크스 방법론에 따라 분석하여 그 해결 방안을 모색하고운동으로 만들어 가는 작업은 그 어느 때보다 절실하다. 이 글에서는 자본주의 모순의 결과로 나타나고 있는 다양한 의료, 건강 문제를 마르크스주의 관점에서 분석하고 있는 이론적 작업의 일부를 소개했다. 더불어 최근 ‘4차 산업혁명’ 레토릭 속에서 세계적으로 각광을 받고 있는 ‘스마트 헬스케어’의 구조를 정치경제학적으로 분석하기 위한 시론적 논의를 진행했다. 마르크스주의는 필요에 따라 분배되는 것이 당연한 의료조차도 상품화해 시장논리에 맡기는 자본주의 의료의 비윤리성과 비효율성을 날카롭게 분석해 의료서비스 상업화, 시장화, 산업화 경향에 맞서왔다. 건강/생명 산업은 건강을 지속적으로상품화함으로써 이윤을 강탈해가고 있다. 마르크스주의는 이러한 강탈 과정의 비합리성과 비효율성에 대해서도 지속적인 비판을 해오고 있다. 최근 한국에서 지속적인 관심을 받고 있는 ‘스마트 헬스케어’는 마르크스주의 관점에서 보았을 때, 의료 및 건강의 상품화, 시장화, 산업화 맥락으로 분석할 수 있다. 스마트 헬스케어 육성 프로젝트는 제한 없는 욕망을 불러일으킴으로써 지속적으로새로운 시장을 창출할 수 있는 가능성이 열려 있는 건강/생명 산업이 신자유주의정치 세력과 공모해 이윤을 창출하고 이니셔티브를 유지하려고 진행하는 신자유주의-건강/생명 산업 재활성화 프로젝트의 일환이다.
다국어 초록[Multilingual Abstract]
As global crisis deepens, the ‘morbid symptoms’ of capitalism appear as various phenomena. It is more urgent than ever to analyze them according to Marx’s methodology, to find solutions and to create social movements in response. This article analyzes Industrialization of medicine and commercialization of health resulting from capitalist contradictions from a Marxist point of view. In addition, it discusses the structure of the ‘smart healthcare’ industry, which has been widely recognized worldwide in ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ rhetoric. Social movements inspired by Marxism have resisted the tendency to commercialize, marketize, and industrialize healthcare services by analyzing the unethical practices, irrationality and inefficiency of capitalist medicine. The health/life industry has conducted accumulation by dispossession by continuing to commercialize health. The ‘smart healthcare’ industry, which has recently attracted attention in South Korea, can be analyzed from a Marxist perspective in the context of medical and health commercialization, marketization and industrialization. The smart healthcare industry aims to create a new market by creating unlimited desires for better health. The health/life industry is collaborating with neo-liberal political forces to create profit and revitalize neo-liberal ideology.
