초록[abstracts]
[본 연구는 중동호흡기증후군(MERS, 이하 메르스) 유행 대응에 참여한 사람들의 메르스 대응 당시와 대응 이후 상황에 대한 경험을 반추하고 감염병 예방 및 관리 강화를 위한 정책적 및 실천적 함의를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 총 42명을 대상으로 개별 및 집단 심층인터뷰를 실시하였으며, 참여자의 언어로 공통된 경험의 본질을 기술하는 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학을 활용하였다. 분석 결과 메르스 대응 참여자의 유행 당시 경험은 ‘준비되지 않은 전쟁에 맞닥뜨린 최일선의 용사’로, 유행 이후의 경험은 ‘끝나지 않은 전쟁에서 잊혀진 용사’로 구조화되었으며, 유행 당시 경험은 총 4개의 상위범주와 12개의 하위범주, 유행 이후의 경험은 총 3개의 상위범주와 7개의 하위범주로 구조화되었다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 공중보건위기시의 대응 역량을 강화하기 위해서는 정보 공유와 소통 강화, 위기관리 리더십의 역량 강화와 함께 신종 감염병을 포함한 감염병 예방 및 관리의 최일선에 있는 참여자들에 대한 정책적 지원이 필요함을 제안하였다.,
The purpose of this study is to derive policy and practical implications for the prevention and management of infectious diseases by reflecting the experiences of the professionals across a range of sectors who participated in responding to the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome outbreak in South Korea. A total of 42 qualitative interviews were conducted and Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenology, which is using the descriptions of participants, was adopted to analyse the essence of shared experiences of the participants. As a result, the experience of the participants during the outbreak were structured into four categories and 12 subcategories, and summarized as “frontliners facing an un-prepared war”. The post - epidemic experiences were structured into three categories and seven subcategories, and summarized as “the forgotten warriors in an endless war”. This finding highlights the importance of strengthening the capacity of information sharing, risk communication, and incident management system and crisis management leadership for the better prevention and response with respect to public health crisis.]
