This study reconstructs the present meaning of affection in Aristotle's ethics, focusing on the core issues of Aristotle's philia. And, the purpose of this study is to provide an ideological basis for contributing to the discourse of Character Education in our age today. In this paper, the authors present the analysis of the issue in three dimensions that Aristotle's current meaning of philia thought can be provided as the ideological foundation of Character Education. The three are as follows: The present meaning of the three categories itself of philia, the scarcity of philia based on excellence, and philia as philautia. The writer is faithful to Aristotle's proposition, but today it seeks to analyze its present meaning from the viewpoint of Character Education and find value.
국문 초록[abstracts]
본 연구는 아리스토텔레스의 ‘친애(philia)’ 이론의 핵심 쟁점을 중심으로 아리스토텔레스의 윤리학에서 친애 사상이 지닌 현재적 의미를 재구성하고, 이를 통해 오늘날 우리 시대의 인성교육 담론에 기여할 수 있는 사상적 기초를 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 본론에서 논자는 아리스토텔레스의 ‘친애’ 사상의 현재적 의미가 인성교육의 사상적 기초로 마련될 수 있음을 세 가지 차원에서 쟁점을 분석하면서 제시한다. 그 세 가지는 ‘친애의 세 종류 구분 범주 자체의 현재적 의미’, ‘탁월성에 근거한 친애의 희소성’, 그리고 ‘자기애로서의 친애’이다. 논자는 아리스토텔레스의 명제에 충실하면서도 오늘날 인성교육의 관점에서 그 현재적 의미를 분석하고 가치를 찾고자 한다.
