초록[abstracts]

[지금까지 의철학 영역에서는 현대 의학에서 소외되어 있는 환자나 의료인의 주관성을 재발견하고 되살리는 방식으로 주체화의 문제를 제기해왔다. 생의학 패러다임에 기반을 둔 현대 의학에서는 특정한 방향으로 주체가 생산된다고 보기 때문인데, 이런 문제 제기는 넓게는 현대 의학에 대한 반성적 성찰이라는 의철학 고유의 목표와도 관련이 있다. 그런데 이런 문제 제기는 주로 건강과 질병의 이분법과 환자와 의사의 비대칭적 권력 관계에 기반을 둔 의료화 시대의 산물이라고 할 수 있다. 하지만 최근에는 생명과학기술의 발전과 더불어 건강과 질병의 경계가 유동적으로 바뀌고, 예방과 증강(enhancement) 중심으로 의학적 실천의 양상이 다양해지면서 의학에서의 새로운 주체화 양상이 나타나고 있다. 따라서 의철학에서도 비대칭적인 환자-의사 관계에 기반을 둔 기존의 논의에 더해 새로운 주체화 논의가 필요하다. 그런 점에서 상처 입을 가능성(vulnerability)은 몸을 중심에 두고 질병의 상호신체성과 환자와 의사의 상호의존성 및 책임성을 설명할 수 있는 개념이라는 점에서 주목할 필요가 있다. 특히 주디스 버틀러는 미셸 푸코와 에마뉘엘 레비나스의 사유를 아우르면서 우리의 공동 존재 조건으로서의 상처 입을 가능성과 그로 인해 파생되는 상호의존성을 통해 타자의 질문에 응답해야 하는 주체의 책임성을 강조하고 있는데, 이는 의학에서의 주체화를 새롭게 탐구할 수 있는 시작점이 될 수 있을 것이다.,

In the field of philosophy of medicine, the problem of ‘subjectivation’ has been raised in a way that rediscovers and revives the subjectivity of patients or medical personnel who are alienated from modern medicine. The reason is that in modern medicine based on the biomedical paradigm, the subject is produced in a specific direction. And it is also related to the inherent goal of philosophy of medicine, which is a critical reflection on modern medicine. On the other hand, the questions related to subjectivation are mainly the result of the medicalization era, based on the dichotomy of health and disease and the asymmetric power relationship between patient and doctor. But with the recent development of biotechnology, the boundaries between health and disease have been changed fluidly, and the pattern of medical practice has been reshaped around prevention and enhancement, and as a result, new aspects of subjectivation in medicine have emerged. Therefore, in the philosophy of medicine, it is necessary to discuss the birth of a new subject in addition to the discussion based on the asymmetric power relationship between the patient and the doctor. In this regard, vulnerability should be noted in that it is a concept that has the possibility of explaining the intercorporeality of the disease, the interdependence and accountability of the patient and the doctor centered on the body. In particular, Judith Butler, who was strongly influenced by Foucault and Levinas’ works, emphasizes the responsibility of the subject to answer the other’s questions through the possibility of being wounded as a condition of our common existence and the interdependence derived from it. And this could be a starting point for a new exploration of subjectivity in modern medicine.]
