오하이오 주, 낙태시술 가능 주수 임신20주로 단축 및 조력자살 3급 중죄로 적용 [1월3일]

2017년부터 미국 오하이오 주는 조력자살을 3급 중죄(pelony)로 처벌하는 법 HB470(Requires licensing of palliative care facilities, 완화의료 면허제법)이 시행됨. 이는 조력자살을 주 내의 가장한 심각한 죄로 처벌하는 것으로 최대 5년의 징역형을 선고할 수 있음. 또한 낙태 시술 시행 가능 기간을 임신 24주에서 20주로 단축하는 법 SB127( Prohibits abortion when gestational age is 20 weeks or more)이 시행됨. 낙태에 관하여 일명 심장박동법(HB493)이 국회에서 통과된바 있었으나, 존 카이식 오하이오 주지사가 서명하지 않고 기간단축 법안에 서명함.
