초록[abstracts]

[본 논문에서는 노인들을 생명정치의 과녁이나 희생양이 아닌 생명정치를 행하는 정치적 주체로 본다. 그리하여 의료기술과 복지정책이 그들이 원하는 마지막을 보장해주지 못한다는 사실을 알고 있으면서도 노인들이 생명정치의 전장에 뛰어들 수밖에 없는 사회문화적 맥락을 고찰한다. 또한 생명정치적 기획 속에 노인들의 존재양식은 어떻게 변화하고 있으며, 이에 대응하여 노인들은 자신의 죽음에 대한 윤리를 어떻게 직조하고 있는지 일본 나가노현사례를 중심으로 고찰한다. 이러한 논의를 통해 본 연구에서는 인간이라면 누구라도 경험하게 될 노화와 죽음에 이르는 과정에 수반되는 쇠퇴를 애써 부정하고 억지로 삶의 영역에서 내몰아 버리려는 생명정치적 기획은 죽음의 증후에 붙잡힌 대다수의 생명에 대한 경멸과 배제로 귀착될 위험을 내포하고 있음을 지적한다.,

This article presents as political agents of biopolitics, rather than as its targets or victims. Through the case study of Nagano Prefecture in Japan, this study explores how the socio-cultural context forces the elderly to dive into the battlefield of biopolitics, even though they are aware that medical technologies and welfare programs cannot guarantee them the ends that they desire. Furthermore, this study explores how the elderly persons’ ontological existences change, and how they weave the ethics of their own deaths in response to this. Through these discussions, this study points to the ways in which biopolitical projects seek to drive out symptoms of death such as aging and decline from the sphere of life, thus involving the inherent risk of contempt and exclusion of the majority of lives that remain caught up in the symptoms of death.]
