초록[abstracts]
Now it is counted down for human to catch "the blueprint of life". Because Human Genome Project which reveals the secrets of genes would be completed soon. On the other hand some people say that it would be as a big event as the arrival to the moon in 1960's. In this point Human Genome Project has great potential which can change human life. The most important significance of Human Genome Project is on the cure of incurable diseases. It will be more possible to overcome variable incurable diseases caused by the abnormalities of genes such as cancer, leukemia, dementia, and malfunction of heart. Because it can give the data about differences between the normal and the abnormal genes and activate the gene therapy. The advanced bio-technology can be beneficial to the human progress, but it could cause unexpected baneful problems in the ethical and social aspects. One of the important problems is that it may hurt the Dignity of Human. It is hard to deny that at the modern society the thesis of 'the Dignity of Human' is much obscure because of the development of material civilization and the advances of science and technology. Furthermore, Human Genome Project is pointed to such view that the human life is merely acts of material, subject of science and object, and then it will be another cause for hurt of 'the Dignity of Human'. Therefore Human Genome Project could be another cause to trample the Dignity of Human in a new dimension. A human being has his own Dignity individually. A human being is dignified because the human life is created by God and a human being is the only creature created as 'the image of God'(Gen. 1, 26-27) and is the special being who has character among creatures. God entrusted human with contracting and promoting human's own Dignity. Therefore, everyone must care for the protection and defence of the Dignity and the Rights of Human, and lead himself to full inspiration of the human character and to protection of the value of human being. And the protection of human and the increase of Dignity of human are not interesting stuffs only to christian. These are for all human beings who seek the truth and worry about the future for entire human society, therefore we must try together. Science and technology exist for human themselves, to progress, are more worthy when they can be exist for development for human. Therefore Human Genome Project must be researched in the basis of the Dignity of Human, then it must be able to realize the Dignity of Human. Eventually, Human Genome Project should have the respect for human in the Dignity of Human, This respect is warm heart to dignify and protect a human. So they could be oppositions of the respect for the Dignity of Human, for trials to achieve economic, social, and political benefit with Human Genome Project and for all the theories, bio-technology or other science by which human can be changed reasonably. So we must realize that the respect for the Dignity of Human is the most valuable index. According to 「Conscience of Liberty」(Art. 36), it is clear that "science and technology must follow basic rule of ethics, devote to human, and then devote to human's untransferable rights given by God's will and plan and to perfect virtue." Therefore, bio-technology such as Human Genome Project must be a witness to reveal the mysteries of human life, and in this way it should be to reveal how human are great dignified existence. For this, all the personalities must form relationship frame of human and technology in the basis of understanding of human and self-identification newly. Moreover we have to try to create new culture and movements of true Gospel for the increase the Dignity of Human.
